A welcoming place to ask about a developing smile
If you have noticed a change in how your child's teeth meet, you are welcome to ask about it. You do not need to decide whether braces are needed before booking a visit. A conversation can help you understand what is being monitored and which questions to bring to an assessment.

Two examples, with treatment still underway
Dr. Fareed Tareen's January 9, 2025 post describes interceptive orthodontics and case progress. His April 25, 2024 post describes early correction of anterior and posterior crossbites. The original comparisons are kept together in the slideshow. Braces remain visible in the later photographs, so these are progress examples rather than finished-treatment results.
What early orthodontic care means
Interceptive orthodontics may address a developing bite concern before all adult teeth have appeared. Whether to begin treatment or continue monitoring depends on an individual assessment. Braces and other appliances can be used to guide tooth movement; the choice is specific to the treatment plan.
Make room for your questions
What are we watching as the teeth develop? What is the aim of this stage? Would monitoring be reasonable, and could another stage be needed later? Who will provide the care, and would a specialist referral be helpful? You can also ask for the expected appointments and costs to be explained before making a decision.
Looking at progress together
The later photograph is one checkpoint in care. It is an opportunity to ask what has changed and what is still being worked on. These posts do not give a treatment duration or a final follow-up result, and the same sequence should not be assumed for another child.
